ASSOCIATE ART DIRECTOR

CRAFT| Media/Digital is a conservative political and public affairs firm and the work we produce is a reflection of our clients’ views.

Job Description:

Summary: The Associate Art Director at CRAFT | Media/Digital is responsible for working with other members of the CRAFT team to create analogue and digital graphic design content and materials for CRAFT clients and specified projects. The Associate Art Director will provide creative input, direction, and execution of CRAFT marketing content and materials.  The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of design experience and brings artistic proficiency and a high degree of creativity and design leadership to CRAFT.

Responsibilities: 

  • Create designs from concept through completion for a variety of deliverables, including but not limited to brochures, websites, presentations, proposals, emails, case studies, promotional materials, logos, info-graphics, print and online advertising, and direct mail
  • Design graphic content as depicted or described by CRAFT partners, employees, or clients that are consistent with CRAFT standards
  • Responsible for visual creative content for CRAFT pitches and client projects
  • Assemble proofs for project team and client approval
  • Review and correct printer proofs
  • Manage all creative aspects of CRAFT branding and marketing strategy and materials
  • Evaluate conflicting requirements of multiple clients and prioritize workload accordingly
  • Present design and creative direction via verbal or written presentation for prospective and current clients
  • Manage time, budget, and schedule resources to meet deadlines and provide quality deliverables
  • Manage design and print vendors
  • Develop, implement, and maintain CRAFT-standard formatting for documents, presentations and other materials
  • Provide final review and application of creative best practices for all CRAFT creative products
  • Engage with external entities to elevate CRAFT’s work and profile within the creative community and the political and public affairs industries
  • Other projects, duties, and tasks as assigned

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Mastery of PC and/or Apple operating systems, as well as word processing, spreadsheets, and Internet browsing applications
  • Applied experience with online creative design for website creation and advertising
  • Experience in preparing press-ready production files in an efficient and timely manner
  • Commitment to professional growth and advancing creative skill set
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize projects and meet deadlines. Execute high quality work products under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail
  • Professional manner and highly polished interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment, as well as work independently and exercise sound professional judgment
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks and projects simultaneously in a creative environment
  • Commitment to responsiveness, high quality work, confidentiality and customer service

Education and Training: Bachelors Degree and at least 5 years of relevant work experience required. Superior candidates will have advanced certifications and or graduate training

Work environment:

  • Work performed in an open office environment. Collaboration and interruptions are common
  • Client list includes right of center organizations and political candidates
  • Daily work performed Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Additional hours may be required on an as needed basis
