Matt Henry’s 'Short Stories' work focuses on utopian/dystopian visions inspired by the rich political and cultural history of 1960s and 1970s America. A brooding backdrop of cold war paranoia set against the unflinching liberal optimism of the counter-cultural movement provides the perfect inspiration for photographic fables. Some works are literal, some metaphorical and none make serious claims to complexity but all are fables that seek to remind the viewer of the polarity of human potential.
