Malta 2007 | Original Polaroid photographs by Lia Sáile
Exhibted 2008 at National Museum of Fine Arts, Malta
  • Within 5 months the exhibition"SILENCE" was organized from abroad (Vienna) and finally opened in thebeautiful Loggia of the National Museum of Fine Arts, South Street,Valletta, the capital of Malta, on the 23rd of May in 2008 with about 30-40 guests and the two displayed models Nela Adam and Marlene Kelnreiter present, who flew in from Paris and Iceland.

Theexhibits are 11 Polaroids which were enlarged carefully, then exposedon high quality photo paper and finally mounted on Aluminium plates.
The Loggia is not just any place to exhibit at. When I saw the space inAutumn 2007 I immediately fell in love and knew these Polaroids wouldeither be displayed there or nowhere; Within this sheltered innercourtyard no noise of the outside world disrupts the silence, though itopens up highly to the sky. Only the sound of water from a smallfountain centered in the court quietly supports the place's calm yetenergetic atmosphere. The almost sacred tranquility reminds of atemple, in which our footsteps echo softly when entering.
