Description
This series of photographs was commissioned by the Sofidel Group, one of Europe's leading manufacturers of card and paper products for hygienic and domestic use. Together with the advertising agency, BF Associates, we decided to describe the various stages of the production process in the manner of a corporate-industrial reportage. During the production of the reportage, I decided to enhance the project by asking workers along the various stages of the production process to pose in front of their machinery. The concept being to take a series of quick 'snaps' to capture an element of spontaneity. In order to make this work I had to establish a rapport with the workers in order to gain their trust. The idea is to maintain man at the centre of the image, surrounded by machinery of every kind, so as to underline the importance of the human factor to the Sofidel Group.
