Inveterate
backpacker, Pascal Mannaerts has regularly travelled around the world for over
15 years, bringing strong and aesthetical
images. His many travels have led him to Asia, Africa, Latin America, North
Africa and the Middle East.
Free
electron in photography, outside the channels of classical learning, he learnt
by his taste for research and discovery. It is lost in these faraway lands that he
discovered photography, a witness of the realities and experiences he had on
the roads.
His work
reflects this desire to meet and the magic that came out. It is above all the Human
that is reflected in his works. The Human in his unconditional beauty, his
depth, his infinity. The endless
variations within the Human being, His similarities found in totally different
environments, a continuing thread. The
Human, His thoughts, His convictions, His mystery, His novelty. The Human in portraits, in spontaneous
moments, in snapshots, at mass events, in slices of everyday life.
Part of his
work is presented on his portfolio website www.parcheminsdailleurs.com. Some of
his photographs were published by Geo, Lonely Planet, Le Guide du routard, The
House of India and in several travel magazines in Europe.
