Jeremiah Jarvis, 28, lives in suburban Davis, CA with his wife, Jennifer, and their 3 month old daughter, Emma. They are active with their families, community, and church.
Jeremiah is an officer with the Sacramento Police Department. He patrols Del Paso Heights, an area of North Sacramento known for its high crime rate. Gangs, guns and drugs are a part of his daily routine.
Jennifer, a first grade teacher was recently laid off due to budget cuts, and the Jarvis' are learning how to live on a single income. They want to buy a house to raise their family, but when the housing market crashed they were caught "upside down" on an investment property and are struggling to recover from the short sale. They keep a tight budget and track every expense.
Jeremiah and Officer Jarvis are two different men housed in the same body. At home he is a gentle father and husband dealing with the same daily struggles that face most Americans; at work he is a high intensity authoritarian, constantly seeking interaction with the most dangerous people on the streets.
