As an individual dwells on a significant dream, her eyes open to a world of vague personal connectivity. It is this moment of opening that I am trying to capture, focusing specifically on the eyes. Using a large format camera enabled me to capture extreme detail and the shallow depth of field. Each image was hand processed, taking on inherent qualities during development to resemble the unique and diaphanous quality of the subjects and their dreams. The excerpts were taken from interviews conducted by myself discussing the individual's most memorable dreams or nightmares. I joined the quotes with the portraits in order to give the viewer an opportunity to create a connection of their own. My goal is to create a gallery of images that enters the world of ambiguity that we experience when describing or trying to understand our dreams.
