Faces of Nepal Most of these people are of Tamang, which is of Tibeto-Burman origin, found close to the Tibet borer, from my last trip to Nepal. Tamang may derived from the Tibetan word Tamag witch means horse warriors. The Tamang were border police For Tibet many centuries ago. They follow Tibetan Buddhism, with a scattering of Lama priests among the villages for all there needs. Quite a spiritual experience as the Lamas drum beats travel through the mountains. A project of portraits, no doubt a story behind each face.
